Abstract

Background: Laparoscopiccholecystectomy (LC) is the preferredsurgical procedure for gallstone diseaseworldwide. However, LC is not entirelyrisk-free, and approximately 2–15% ofprocedures require conversion to opencholecystectomy due to intraoperativedifficulties.
