Background: Acute mesenteric ischemia (AMI) is a life-threatening surgical condition caused by interruption of intestinal blood supply and may progress rapidly to bowel necrosis, sepsis and death.Delayed diagnosis remains a major challenge.
Aim: To review the clinical presentation, radiological spectrum, operative management and outcomes of surgically treated patients with AMI at a tertiary care centre, with particular attention to revascularization and non-revascularization strategies.
