Abstract

Tuberculous meningitis represents the most severe form of central nervous system tuberculosis,leading to high rates of mortality and neurological disability. The acute presence of secondary bacterial coinfection or superinfection significantly accelerates central nervous system tissue destruction, exacerbating cerebral vasculitis, hydrocephalus, and intracranial hypertension. The objective of this prospective analytical study was to evaluate the clinical spectrum, bacterial coinfection parameters, neuroimaging findings, and laboratory predictors of short-term neurological outcomes and mortality in adult patients with tuberculous meningitis.
