Abstract

Background: The case-fatality ratio of gastric cancer is higher than for commonmalignancies like colon, breast, and prostate cancers because most patients experience vagueand nonspecific symptoms in the early stages and the classic triad of anemia, weight loss, and refusal of meat-based foods is seen only in advanced stages.
