Abstract

Background: Inguinal hernia repair is one of the most common general surgical procedures. TheLichtenstein tension-free repair is the gold standard open technique, while the laparoscopicTransabdominal Preperitoneal (TAPP) approach is a widely adopted minimally invasivealternative. The choice between them often hinges on postoperative recovery and the risk ofchronic groin pain.
