Abstract

ABSTRACT
Background: Double-J (DJ) ureteral stents are commonly used in urological practice but are frequently associated with bothersome lower urinary tract symptoms and pain, significantly affecting patient quality of life. Tamsulosin, an α1-adrenergic blocker, may reduce these symptoms by decreasing ureteral smooth muscle tone and bladder outlet resistance. Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness of oral tamsulosin in reducing DJ stent-related symptoms using IPSS and VAS scores in a tertiary care centre.
