Abstract

Background:-Preoperative anxiety is experienced by a substantial proportion of patients undergoing elective surgery and
is associated with increased perioperative stress responses, higher anaesthetic requirements, postoperativepain, prolonged recovery, and reduced patient satisfaction. Conventional preoperative counselling is usuallyprovided verbally; however, the quality and consistency of information may vary between healthcareproviders. Short educational videos offer standardized information and may improve patient understandingwhile reducing anxiety.
