Background: One of the most commoncauses of morbidity and death in intensivecare units is metabolic encephalopathy,especially in patients who are elderly,immunocompromised, severely ill or haveconcomitant diseases. Therefore, we aimto investigate the prevalence, etiology,clinical characteristics, and outcome ofmetabolic encephalopathy patients admitted to tertiary care institution duringthe study period.
