Abstract

Otitis media with effusion remains a leadingcause of transient conductive hearing loss inchildren, frequently influencing speech
development, academic performance, andquality of life. Despite its high prevalence,optimal management remains controversial,
particularly regarding the role of systemiccorticosteroids compared with conservative observation.
